ACKNOWLEDGMENT Section 1. Membership Any person, association, or corporation within the State of Kentucky is eligible for membership. The membership period is defined as January 1st through December 31st. ● Denial of Membership: The Chamber Board reserves the right to deny membership to any person, association, or corporation if, by review of the Board of Directors, the person, association, corporation or business engages in behavior or personal conduct that may cast a negative light on the Chamber’s values, mission, projects or services. ● Discrimination Clause: Any form of harassment, which includes bullying or offensive comments/conduct, or any form of discrimination against the Chamber Board or Chamber Members will not be tolerated and could result in denial of membership, termination of membership, or renewal of membership. ● Termination of Membership o Voluntary Resignation: Members may resign at any time by providing written notice to the Executive Director. o Involuntary Termination: The Board of Directors, after review and by majority vote, may terminate membership for business or personal conduct that violates the Chamber’s values, bylaws, mission, programs, projects, or services after due process and an opportunity for the member to respond. Section 2. Dues Membership dues shall be determined by the Board of Directors and are payable in advance or by billing agreement on file. Dues are reviewed and approved annually by the Board of Directors with a majority vote each November/December for the following fiscal year. Dues for membership renewal are to be paid in December/January and a grace period for payment of those dues shall expire on the 15th of February. Failure to renew dues will constitute removal from the Chamber of Commerce resources and services provided to members. Membership may be reinstated by full payment of dues, regardless of when payment is received and all Chamber of Commerce resources and services will be restored unto said member. If a member decides to resign from membership or membership is terminated, once dues are paid, no refunds will be given. By adhering to your signature below, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the terms stated above regarding membership, denial of membership, discrimination clause, termination of membership, and dues. Failure to acknowledge the same may result in denial of your application for membership of the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, the Garrard County Chamber of Commerce is absolved from any legal obligations to accept members that do not align with the Chambers values, mission, projects or services and can not be held liable for same.
