The City of Lancaster, established 1797, serves as the county seat of Garrard County, and sits in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Lancaster’s geographic location serves as a cross-roads for the region as it sits at the heart of Lexington, Richmond, Danville, Somerset, and Berea. The Lancaster Square is a hub of activity at the intersection of Highways 27 and 52.
